What you will do

• Advise teams on legal demands for user data disclosure and content removal from governmental and private parties.
• Identify legal risks associated with content moderation and the enforcement of X Rules.
• Collaborate with regional team members to align policies and operationalize legal requirements.
• Develop and update policies to ensure compliance with legal obligations and customer commitments.
• Provide feedback on legislative proposals affecting content moderation and data production obligations.
• Guide product and design initiatives on law enforcement, safety, and expression implications.

Requirements

• J.D. equivalent and qualification to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the JAPAC region or the United States.
• At least 6+ years of legal experience.
• Familiarity with internet-based communications technology, cloud services, and related legal issues.
• Ability to operate thoughtfully in ambiguous environments with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills for both legal and non-legal audiences.
• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of and experience with criminal investigative processes and third-party civil demands.
• Knowledge of human rights law.
