TL;DR

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Austin, Texas (Hybrid role).

What you will do
- Own and execute key legal workflows and projects from intake through resolution.
- Develop and evolve AI governance frameworks, including responsible AI use and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor for product, partnerships, finance, marketing, and people teams.
- Manage outside counsel relationships efficiently and effectively.
- Build and improve legal playbooks, templates, and processes to support business speed and safety.
- Provide subject matter expertise on privacy, data protection, IP, and employment law.
Requirements
- US-licensed, active bar in good standing with a JD from an ABA-accredited US law school.
- Proven track record of owning legal matters end-to-end in a fast-moving business.
- Strong business-calibrated judgment and clear, direct communication skills.
- Experience using AI tools to work more effectively and responsibly.
- Intellectual curiosity and adaptability to handle a broad, generalist legal scope.
Nice to have
- In-house experience at a technology or SaaS company.
- Litigation or regulatory background.
- Platform or marketplace ecosystem exposure (e.g., Meta, TikTok).
- Privacy or data-protection certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US).
