Backend Software Engineer (Azure)

Location: Must be a U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident) and able to work onsite in San Francisco, CA. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is required.

Salary: $130,000–$220,000

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure for distributed radar systems.
• Develop high-performance backend services for real-time sensor data ingestion and processing.
• Define infrastructure as code and automate deployments using modern DevOps practices.
• Own observability, monitoring, and resiliency to ensure production system dependability.
• Shape technical platform architecture to support scalability and long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to deliver end-to-end mission capabilities.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and experience building scalable backend systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or real-time data pipelines.
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and modern backend development.
• Proficiency with Azure or other major cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Terraform, Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD.
• Experience with frontend development (TypeScript/React).
