Salary: USD $119,800–$234,700 gross annual base pay across the U.S.; USD $160,200–$261,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Build and operate fault-tolerant distributed systems for Azure Compute Manager at hyperscale.
• Develop services that provision, update, heal, migrate, monitor, and operate virtual machines and containers across Azure regions.
• Design, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements, identify dependencies, and create technical design documents.
• Drive project and release plans while partnering with product and project stakeholders.
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, participate in on-call operations, monitor service health, and restore degraded systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field plus 4+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
• Professional coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
• Experience designing, developing, or operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems is required as a preferred qualification.
• Preferred experience includes a master’s degree plus 6+ years, or a bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of technical engineering experience.

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, or operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
