Product Owner (Contract Management)

TL;DR

Product Owner (Contract Management): Transforming BT's contract management from manual processes to a digital end-to-end model with an accent on the full contract lifecycle. Focus on translating complex requirements into prioritized backlogs, managing dependencies across Legal and Digital teams, and ensuring high data quality.

Location: Hybrid (3 days a week at contractual location). Available offices: Birmingham, Bristol, London, or Manchester (UK)

What you will do

• Lead the delivery of end-to-end contract lifecycle capabilities, from initiation through to renewal and closure.
• Define and manage the product roadmap and prioritized backlog aligned to business value.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Legal, Digital, Data, and Security to translate requirements into user stories.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies to unblock delivery and ensure successful releases.
• Embed strong governance, auditability, and data quality into the contract management process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Owner with expertise in backlog ownership and value-based delivery.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans and user stories.
• Strong stakeholder management skills within complex, matrixed organizational environments.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Commercial acumen, including understanding of P&L drivers and value trade-offs.
• Must be based in the UK to comply with the hybrid working model.

Nice to have

• Experience in contract lifecycle management or large-scale transformation programs.
• Strong requirements engineering skills, including traceability and acceptance criteria.
• Experience embedding governance, controls, and data quality.
• Data literacy and understanding of reporting metrics.
