What you will do

• Own and continuously optimise the product backlog for a high-performing Agile engineering team.
• Translate strategic product objectives into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
• Prioritise work based on customer value, business objectives, technical dependencies, and delivery capacity.
• Partner closely with Software Engineers, Architects, UX, and Delivery Managers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Balance the delivery of new features alongside technical debt, platform improvements, and non-functional requirements.
• Use customer feedback and data to drive informed product decisions.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Preston, UK for 3 days per week.
• Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Owner, or Senior Business Analyst in complex software environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery, Scrum, and modern software development practices.
• Experience managing and prioritising complex product backlogs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business objectives into clear technical requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
• Background in enterprise software platforms.
• Knowledge of API-driven products and systems integration.
• Experience with large-scale digital transformation programmes.
