What you will do
- Coordinate international shipping operations across ocean, air, and ground freight, managing carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs across regions.
- Own logistics documentation for cross-border movement (bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).
- Track shipments proactively and resolve delays, routing issues, and carrier exceptions to protect delivery timelines.
- Manage import customs clearance, including accurate HTS classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations; audit broker entries and resolve discrepancies with CBP or other authorities.
- Handle export documentation and licensing determinations (ECCN/EAR, ITAR if applicable), including screening against denied party lists and coordinating EEI/AES filings.
- Ensure compliance for Dangerous Goods shipments, specifically Lithium-Ion Batteries, and use AI/data analytics to improve classification accuracy and detect anomalies.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience managing international freight operations (ocean, air, ground) and working with global carriers, forwarders, and 3PLs.
- Strong knowledge of US customs clearance requirements, HTS classification, and import/export regulations, including section 301 and section 232.
- Strong analytical skills for auditing entries, reconciling trade data, and identifying trends.
- Excellent cross-functional communication with internal and external stakeholders across multiple time zones and cultures.
- Ability to work 5 days/week in-office collaboration in San Jose, CA.
