Backend Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Build and integrate backend features for the website and mobile app with international engineering teams.
• Own and improve product modules covering private customer areas, bill management, saving sessions, onboarding, and marketing dashboards.
• Develop services and tariffs used by millions of energy customers worldwide.
• Deliver customer-impacting code in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Lead complex technical issues from concept through production.

Requirements

• English: fluent spoken English is essential for daily international collaboration.
• Strong professional experience building backend applications with Python.
• Solid experience with Django or an equivalent robust web framework.
• Deep understanding of domain modelling and software architecture.
• Strong expertise designing and integrating GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Experience with Celery, asynchronous task processing, PostgreSQL, and robust, fault-tolerant, scalable software.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Packer, or Consul.
• Familiarity with React and Next.js.
• Familiarity with DataDog for logging and metric aggregation.
