What you will do

• Co-lead a cross-functional squad alongside a Product Manager, integrating UX and Data expertise.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and ensure alignment with company and technical strategy.
• Drive operational excellence by establishing security practices and meeting Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Set and track OKRs and KPIs to measure team performance and ensure delivery predictability.
• Coach and develop engineers through continuous feedback, training, and performance calibration.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to bridge technical gaps and provide necessary context to the squad.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing teams of engineers and fostering a healthy team dynamic.
• Knowledge of the core tech stack: gRPC, GraphQL, React, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and preferably Go.
• Ability to lead technical design processes and drive well-documented outcomes when resolving disagreements.
• Experience working in complex, multi-variant domains such as billing, pricing, or identity.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools to improve software engineering workflows.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom
