What you will do

• Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the backend platform.
• Lead design and development of scalable microservices for real-time social interaction features.
• Set engineering standards, coding best practices, and quality assurance processes.
• Oversee automated testing, end-to-end testing, performance testing, and platform reliability.
• Lead, mentor, and develop backend engineers through coaching, feedback, and career growth.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and cross-functional engineering teams to align delivery with business objectives.

Requirements

• Experience in software engineering building cloud-native backend platforms.
• Experience leading or managing engineering teams with a focus on coaching and development.
• Strong expertise in Python and modern backend development practices.
• Extensive experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless technologies, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI tools into software development workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or Jenkins).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Experience with Agile delivery using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience building consumer-facing, high-traffic products in sports, media, or streaming.
