What you will do

  • Lead and mentor a team of Java engineers, guiding their professional growth and development.
  • Design and develop scalable software solutions using Java, microservices architecture, Docker, and EKS.
  • Implement and optimize search systems using Solr or Open Search.
  • Build serverless components leveraging AWS Lambda and EC2 services.
  • Ensure delivery quality through best practices in coding, unit testing, and test automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners at all levels to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Java, microservices, Python, and SQL/NoSQL database technologies.
  • Proven experience with search technologies such as Solr or Open Search.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services, specifically EC2, EKS, and Lambda.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and resolving complex technical impediments.
  • Must be based in or able to work in Nottingham (Hybrid)
