What you will do
- Lead the Origination & New Products squad through technical design, build, and execution as a hands-on technical leader.
- Own the delivery of new product categories, translating ambiguous commercial problems into deliverable technical plans.
- Design syss for undefined opportunities and develop deal-gating risk tooling to manage commercial risk.
- Partner with Engineering Managers and commercial stakeholders to ensure technical delivery aligns with origination pipeline outcomes.
- Mentor squad engineers and elevate technical standards without formal people-management responsibilities.
Requirements
- Proven technical leadership at Staff or Senior Staff level with evidence of leading complex initiatives to business impact.
- Ability to operate without a detailed spec and shape undefined opportunities into buildable products.
- Strong commercial judgement to reason about deal risk and revenue impact.
- Proficiency in Python, AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge), and event-driven architectures.
- Experience leading a squad technically through direction and mentorship.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for interacting with commercial stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience in energy, fintech, or other regulated, high-stakes commercial domains.
- Experience expanding a product or company into new international markets.
- Exposure to workflow orchestration, event-driven syss, or real-time pricing engines.
- Experience originating new product lines from scratch.
