TL;DR

Business Development Representative, Federal (Sales Development): Execute high-volume outbound prospecting and qualify inbound leads to generate product demonstrations and sales-qualified opportunities with U.S. federal agencies, with an accent on mapping agency ecosystems and aligning value propositions to federal procurement and IT mandates. Focus on building pipeline discipline in Salesforce while using market intelligence to track RFIs/RFPs and drive territory expansion.

Location: Draper, Utah (onsite, Monday–Friday)

What you will do

  • Run strategic outreach and prospecting: 50+ calls/day plus personalized email sequencing aligned to federal territories and agency priorities.
  • Map federal agency ecosystems to identify decision-makers, influencers, contracting officers, and technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct market development research on missions, budgets, procurement trends, and upcoming RFIs/RFPs to find whitespace opportunities.
  • Book product demonstrations and maintain a 65% hold rate to convert meetings into sales-qualified opportunities.
  • Qualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns, trade shows, federal events, and webinars; build early relationships aligned to mission drivers and procurement paths.
  • Maintain CRM and sales engagement records in Salesforce, Outreach, and Gong; report pipeline impact and outreach performance.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required for federal customer engagement and access.
  • Onsite availability in the Draper, Utah office Monday–Friday with no restrictions.
  • 1–2 years of experience in Sales Development, Business Development, Market Development, Lead Generation, or full-cycle B2B sales (B2G preferred).
  • Ability to persist through long sales cycles and handle high-volume outreach expectations.
  • Exceptional communication skills to adjust tone and technical depth for IT staff, contracting personnel, and senior government executives (SES).
  • Strong intellectual curiosity to understand diverse U.S. federal missions and organizational structures.
