TL;DR
Senior Frontend Engineer (Accessibility): Designing and building accessible interactions in the Editor with an accent on focus management, keyboard navigation, and ARIA roles. Focus on solving systemic accessibility gaps and ensuring seamless compatibility with various screen readers including VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.
Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Sydney, Australia (Hybrid)

What you will do
- Design and build accessible interactions in the Editor, including focus management, keyboard navigation, and ARIA roles and states.
- Use screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) as daily development tools to test, debug, and validate accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineers across the Editing Group to provide technical guidance and review designs/pull requests for accessibility.
- Identify and resolve systemic accessibility gaps through architectural solutions rather than individual patches.
Requirements
- Commercial experience building accessible web applications with deep practical knowledge of WCAG.
- Hands-on experience developing and debugging with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS).
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React within large, interconnected frontend codebases.
- Ability to communicate technical accessibility behaviors and constraints clearly across disciplines.
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to Sydney, Australia.
Nice to have
- Experience with WAI-ARIA authoring patterns for complex widgets (trees, grids, drag-and-drop).
- Experience with accessibility for HTML5 canvas, real-time UI, or data visualization.
- Familiarity with browser and native accessibility APIs and the accessibility tree.
- Experience building accessibility features utilizing AI.
- Mobile accessibility experience, specifically with React Native.
