TL;DR
Senior Program Manager (Defense): Leading complex defense and autonomous-systems programs across cost, schedule, scope, technical performance, and customer alignment with an accent on program controls, risk mitigation, resource-loaded master schedules, and technical proposal development. Focus on managing concurrent advanced technical programs, coordinating government and commercial customers, and controlling execution under fixed-price and export-compliance requirements.

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; office-based role. Some travel is required, up to 20%, including occasional travel within the continental United States.

Salary: $139,000–$212,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the execution of complex programs or multiple concurrent programs across cost, schedule, scope, and technical performance.
  • Develop program plans, requirements, estimates, budgets, resource allocations, integrated master schedules, and communications plans.
  • Establish program controls and success criteria, manage program-level risks, and oversee mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate internal teams, Product Line Managers, Functional Leads, executives, and government and commercial customers.
  • Lead customer meetings and program reviews while managing alignment, satisfaction, scope changes, and critical priorities.
  • Support business development, opportunity capture, cost and technical proposals, and program reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 12–15 years of program management experience, including leadership of advanced technical development or systems-of-systems programs.
  • Experience leading multiple concurrent programs, managing firm fixed-price programs, and developing risk management and mitigation plans.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methods, tools, processes, resource planning, and Microsoft Office, including MS Project and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams and government and commercial customers, with strong communication, analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or qualifying asylee/refugee or other U.S. person under applicable ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Technical master’s degree.
  • PMI or equivalent certification.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
