TL;DR
Program Manager I (Aerospace & Defense): Managing multiple aerospace and defense programs with budgets up to $20M, overseeing customer relationships, technical execution, staffing, risks, schedules, and cost performance with an accent on program integration, financial control, and stakeholder coordination. Focus on leading cross-functional teams, resolving complex program issues, negotiating with stakeholders, and delivering projects within cost, budget, and schedule constraints.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required. U.S. citizenship is required because the role requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Estimated starting salary: $124,771.42–$171,560.71 per year, plus annual performance-based incentive pay.

What you will do

  • Manage multiple aerospace and defense programs covering customer relationships, cost, schedule, technical planning, and overall execution.
  • Oversee programs with budgets up to $20M and track technical performance, financial status, risks, opportunities, and program issues.
  • Lead and supervise program and project staff, formulate cross-functional teams, delegate responsibilities, and support team development.
  • Serve as the primary customer point of contact and coordinate with internal stakeholders, corporate entities, and business operations.
  • Support resource planning, proposal development, audits, contract negotiations, and fact-finding for program needs.
  • Coordinate program activities to meet cost, budget, schedule, and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of progressive project or program management experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading cross-functional teams of 3 or more members.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or a small program, serving as a customer focal point, preparing proposals or quotes, and negotiating contracts.
  • Skills in financial management, program integration, resource coordination, risk management, stakeholder communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an advanced degree.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, PMBOK, CMMI, agile or spiral development, Earned Value Management, and corporate project management tools.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2000 policies and processes, application tools, and data architectures.
