TL;DR
Program Manager II (Aerospace): Managing complex aerospace and defense programs with budgets of $20M or more, coordinating customer relationships, technical execution, cost, schedule, staffing, and proposal activities with an accent on program integration, financial control, and risk management. Focus on leading cross-functional teams, resolving lifecycle conflicts, preparing and negotiating proposals, and delivering systems within cost and schedule constraints.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid work environment with occasional travel. U.S. citizenship and a current active Secret U.S. security clearance are required.

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

  • Oversee integration and management of multiple complex projects and major systems, including customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning.
  • Manage programs with budgets of $20M or more and track technical execution, risks, issues, and overall performance.
  • Lead and supervise cross-functional program and project staff, including resource planning, team development, mentoring, and accountability.
  • Lead proposal activities from initial customer interaction through requirements definition, estimating, negotiation, and contract award.
  • Coordinate with corporate entities, stakeholders, auditors, the Program Director, and Business Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
  • 8+ years of progressive project or program management experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • 3+ years leading medium-scale projects lasting 1–2 years with teams of 5 or more cross-functional members.
  • Experience with complex projects or larger programs, proposals and quotes, financial control, stakeholder management, and program integration.
  • Ability to manage financial, technical, legal, schedule, and lifecycle risks and lead change, conflict resolution, delegation, and team development.
  • Current active Secret U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Nice to have

  • PMP certification and an advanced degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, PMBOK, CMMI, agile or spiral development, Earned Value Management, and ISO 9001 processes.
  • Experience improving program management tools, processes, templates, and documentation.
