Описание вакансии
TL;DR
Senior HIL Engineer (EV Batteries): Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop environments to enable development, verification, and validation of embedded controllers and calibrations for battery, electrification, engine, and powertrain with an accent on real-time simulation models and HIL bench integration. Focus on designing simulation assets and harness/power/ECU setups, coordinating test-environment rollouts, and leading systems engineering and issue resolution across programs.
Location: Milford, Michigan (Hybrid: report to Milford Michigan 3–4 days per week)
Company
General Motors develops software services and engineering solutions for EV and transportation technologies.
What you will do
- Translate customer needs into testable system requirements and solutions with software development, calibration, validation, and test-environment users.
- Create and maintain simulation models (plant, sensors/actuators, serial data communication, controller models) to build and enhance HIL/SIL test environments.
- Design, integrate, and support HIL benches, including harness design, power distribution, and integration of key ECUs using ISO SPI, CAN tools, and INCA.
- Plan, communicate, and coordinate test-environment strategy and model/hardware rollout for requested applications and features.
- Investigate, root cause, and resolve issues and unexpected test results during test execution.
- Lead systems engineering activities (requirements specification and balancing, functional decomposition, complex design analysis, and software anomaly resolution) and champion best practices as an SME.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, Software, or Computer preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, Software, or Computer).
- 4+ years of experience designing models with real-time simulation.
- 4+ years of experience in HIL design, troubleshooting, and integration.
- 2+ years of experience in automotive engineering.
- 1+ years of experience applying DFSS tools and methodologies to solve problems.
Nice to have
- Experience developing microprocessor-based real-time control algorithms and software in Python and C/C++.
- Experience with embedded controls software and automated software build processes (gcc, gdb, Eclipse, ETAS INCA).
- Experience with HIL bench tools (ETAS INCA, Lauterbach, CAN tools like CANalyzer/Vehicle Spy, code generation, Python).
- Experience as a Controls, Software, or Calibration Engineer.
Culture & Benefits
- Hybrid work model with in-office presence in Milford, Michigan 3–4 days per week.
- Use Agile principles and Scrum ART direction; apply DFSS and Lean thinking to improve HIL engineering processes.
- Opportunity to contribute to EV battery and electrification development through earlier integration and validation.
- Relocation benefits may be available.
Hiring process
- Role-related assessments and/or pre-employment screening may be required.
