Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Automotive)

Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C++/Automotive): Developing vehicle-side software for Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to enable remote feature deployment and security improvements with an accent on system reliability and scalability. Focus on designing scalable software solutions, implementing C++ services, and resolving complex vehicle integration issues.

Location: Hybrid (Austin, TX or Warren, MI); must report to office at least 3 times a week

What you will do

• Lead the development of vehicle-side OTA software from requirements definition through design and deployment.
• Develop and maintain high-quality software applications and services using C++.
• Analyze and decompose complex system requirements into maintainable software solutions.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical software and vehicle integration issues.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Validation, and Integration teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Mentor team members and promote software engineering best practices and coding standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems software development.
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming.
• Experience with Jira, source code management (GitHub, Gerrit, or Bitbucket), and Jenkins CI/CD.
• Proven experience working within Agile development environments (Scrum, SAFe, or XP).
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to the USA.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a technical field.
• Experience developing embedded software for automotive or connected systems.
• Working knowledge of vehicle communication protocols, including CAN and UDS (ISO 14229/J15765).
• Experience leading software architecture and technical decision-making.
