Location: Hybrid (Durham office; work from home plus 3 office days set by you and your team). Preferred primary location: NY office.

Salary: $140,000.00 - $192,500.00 (annual)

What you will do

• Lead intake, investigation, documentation, and resolution of complex global employee relations matters (conduct issues, policy violations, workplace conflicts).
• Coach managers and HRBPs on performance management, disciplinary actions, and difficult conversations to reduce risk.
• Act as the key escalation point for sensitive employee concerns and drive empathetic, legally sound resolutions in partnership with Legal.
• Develop, review, and update HR/ER policies and training programs to ensure compliance with local employment laws (US, UK, DE, Japan).
• Design and improve scalable ER operations (case trackers, templates, workflows) for audit readiness and reduced administrative burden.
• Analyze ER case data to identify trends, surface systemic risks, and recommend proactive solutions.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of Employee Relations or employment law-focused HR experience in a global or fast-scaling organization.
• Deep employment law expertise across markets where the role operates (US, UK, DE, Japan) with experience managing complex ER cases and investigations.
• Systems-thinking approach to designing and scaling repeatable ER processes that improve consistency and reduce risk.
• Exceptional judgment, discretion, and ability to navigate ambiguity with clarity and empathy.
• Strong communication and coaching skills to influence managers, HRBPs, and senior leaders on ER matters.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and diplomacy.
