MEP & Facility Utilites Manager

Location: Universal City, California, United States. Required on-site: this position must be performed full-time from an hirify.global-designated worksite.

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Oversee daily MEP operations across studio facilities and production environments, coordinating schedules and prioritizing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and utility work requests.
• Maintain reliable, efficient, and compliant facility systems through preventive maintenance, inspections, service quality controls, and accurate documentation.
• Respond to operational incidents, including equipment failures, HVAC disruptions, and electrical or plumbing issues that may affect production and related operations.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, procurement, RFPs, contracts, budgets, estimates, and purchase approvals.
• Plan and oversee MEP capital improvement projects, monitoring schedules, costs, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Support critical infrastructure standards, building automation and reporting, staff training, emergency response, sustainability, and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in engineering, business, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in facility maintenance operations and managing union personnel.
• At least 2 years of experience in work planning and analysis, cost-effective internal business practices, and data analytics and verification.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, cooling systems, building automation, utilities, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety practices, environmental compliance, energy-efficiency standards, accessibility, fire protection, boiler systems, and emergency preparedness.
• Ability to operate in high-pressure, mission-critical facility environments and collaborate with engineers, architects, vendors, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of experience in facilities or complex facility operations.
• Experience with enterprise Integrated Workplace Management Systems, work planning, scheduling, and materials management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, Tridium, and other Building or Energy Management Systems.
• Professional designations such as BOMA or LEED.
• Experience managing in a union environment.
