Lead Platform Engineer (Data and AI)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required

Salary: $209,100–$324,100 USD annually for Seattle and Washington, D.C. locations; the general range is $190,100–$294,700 USD annually.

What you will do

• Define and evolve multi-year data and AI platform roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business strategy.
• Architect, implement, and govern the Enterprise Data Platform using Databricks, Azure, Snowflake, and AI technologies.
• Develop design patterns for data and agentic AI applications, including solutions using Databricks foundation models, OpenAI, Claude, and Snowflake Cortex.
• Improve the Data Portal for self-service data cataloging, search, discovery, and data sharing with internal and external users.
• Lead architectural reviews, vendor evaluations, build-versus-buy decisions, and large multi-team delivery efforts.
• Drive automation, observability, governance, DevSecOps, operational reliability, performance, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience with data platforms, advanced analytics, AI/ML infrastructure, data security, and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Terraform, Databricks, Snowflake, data pipelines, orchestration, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing API-driven data platforms using REST or GraphQL, microservices, and API or AI gateways.
• Strong understanding of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, document processing, NLP pipelines, data governance, CI/CD, and cloud-native operations.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States. Immigration-related sponsorship is not provided, including H-1B, O-1, L-1, E, OPT, STEM-OPT, CPT, TN, or J-1 support.

Nice to have

• Experience with Collibra data catalog and data governance.
• Proficiency in C# .NET, Python, or PowerShell.
• Previous Salesforce experience.
• Experience sharing data with internal and external users and cataloging external data platforms.
