Financial Services Industry Architect (Data & AI)

Location: United States — New York, NY; remote in the US Northeast and New Jersey. Travel to customer sites and industry events is required as needed.

Salary: $187.2K–$245.7K annually.

What you will do

• Partner with banks and financial services organizations on strategic opportunities, advising executives, chief data officers, chief risk officers, and enterprise data architects.
• Design end-to-end data- and AI-powered architectures for fraud detection, credit risk modeling, regulatory reporting, customer 360, lending, payments, and other core banking workloads.
• Create repeatable enterprise architectures, use-case journeys, system blueprints, demos, workshops, playbooks, and field-enablement materials.
• Provide structured customer and industry feedback to influence the Snowflake product roadmap.
• Support ecosystem partner engagement, domain-specific architecture reviews, strategic stakeholder alignment, and financial services RFPs.
• Represent financial services technical thought leadership through blogs, presentations, webinars, conferences, and industry events.

Requirements

• 10+ years of architecture experience building, consulting to, or implementing technology for core banking or financial services organizations.
• Expertise in financial services data topics and the functional areas of retail and commercial lending, payments, treasury, risk and compliance, and finance.
• Experience with large-scale databases or data warehouses, ETL, analytics, public cloud technologies, and customer-facing architecture development.
• Understanding of data science and machine learning applications in financial services, including credit scoring, fraud detection, and AML or transaction monitoring.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and Python; familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a relevant master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Strong presentation, communication, consulting, and executive-engagement skills are expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with core banking platforms such as Temenos, FIS, Fiserv, or Finacle.
• Knowledge of risk and compliance systems, actuarial tools, payment networks, CRMs, and third-party financial data providers.
• Familiarity with Basel III/IV, DORA, IFRS 9/17, Solvency II, BCBS 239, AML/KYC, NAIC, and state DOI reporting.
• Experience with Java, Scala, or other programming languages.
