Lead Weld Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Determine and standardize welding processes including friction, MIG, laser, and projection welding.
• Provide technical project management for major equipment purchases and multi-plant quality resolutions.
• Lead the deployment of welding best practices and the CQI-15 Welding System Assessment program globally.
• Troubleshoot welding issues and perform root cause analysis in collaboration with the metallurgical lab.
• Develop process documentation including PFMEAs, control plans, and standard bills of process.
• Interface with equipment vendors to ensure robust system design, installation, and runoff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing and/or assembly experience.
• Extensive experience in welding processes, equipment, and automation/robotics.
• Proficiency in blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and statistical analysis (Cp, Cpk).
• Experience developing PFMEAs, control plans, and process flow charts.
• Ability to support global manufacturing operations, including domestic and international travel.
