Platform Engineer II

Location: Remote in the USA

Salary: $118,000–$151,000 annually

What you will do

• Build and improve platform services by writing code, reviewing changes, and supporting deployments.
• Design solutions that improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience alongside senior engineers.
• Maintain and operate CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and other core platform systems.
• Participate in incident response and retrospectives to improve operational practices.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate platform needs into practical solutions.
• Own smaller projects while developing toward responsibility for larger platform areas.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.
• Experience contributing to the operation of production systems, ideally in distributed or cloud environments.
• Familiarity with security best practices and automation tools.
• Experience with some of Docker, Kubernetes, Python or other scripting languages, Datadog or similar tools, RabbitMQ or other messaging systems, Terraform, networking, PostgreSQL, and Linux administration.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, collaboration, and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-team environments or shared platform services.
• Interest in analytics, telemetry, or IoT systems.
• CI/CD or observability experience beyond the basics.
