What you will do

• Deliver hands-on technical assistance to remote engineers supporting global customers.
• Maintain lab infrastructure, including system configuration, maintenance, and operational readiness.
• Execute inventory control and asset management across lab environments.
• Configure and maintain virtual machines within a VMWare ESXi environment.
• Perform system upgrades, software installations, and optical fiber manipulation.
• Configure and document lab test environments that replicate customer network conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a related technical environment.
• 1+ years of experience with fiber optic transport or switching equipment operations.
• 1+ years of experience troubleshooting OTN/SONET/SDH or Carrier Ethernet equipment.
• Background in technical support within the telecommunications equipment vendor industry.
• Proficiency in Layer 1, 2, and 3 networking protocols.

Nice to have

• Experience with lab operations and test equipment setup.
• Knowledge of optical transport technology.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools like Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and knowledgebase systems.
• Experience with test equipment such as Spirent, Viavi, or Ixia.
