What you will do

  • Troubleshoot optical alignment, metrology, and module test issues directly within a cleanroom environment.
  • Perform re-computation of nominal optical designs and correct optical aberrations to maintain production output.
  • Execute image processing algorithms and analyze Matlab scripts to extract nm flatness information from interferometer data.
  • Develop OCAPs, Fishbone diagrams, and troubleshooting guidelines to streamline engineering responses.
  • Evaluate failed parts, conduct Root Cause Analysis (DOA), and develop technical work instructions.
  • Support PFMEA and implement cycle time and labor hours roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering.
  • Legally authorized to access controlled technology under US Export Administration Regulations.
  • Proficiency with Code-V, Zemax, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python.
  • Knowledge of geometric/wave optics, aberration theory, and optical metrology (Interferometers, Shack-Hartmann).
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (full gowning) and handle physical demands like lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Willingness to work compressed work week schedules (CWW D1 or D2) and occasional weekends.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Optical-Electrical sensors.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, NX, Teamcenter, or SAP.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
