What you will do

• Lead the design, characterization, and integration of optical components such as lenses, filters, light sources, and spectrometers.
• Perform optical modeling of critical technologies to ensure they meet system requirements.
• Conduct research into cutting-edge optics technologies to enable future sensor innovations.
• Devise test and validation plans and define performance specifications for optical components.
• Interface with external vendors to determine optimal and reliable component solutions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Project Management, and Quality personnel to bring solutions to realization.

Requirements

• BS degree (MS preferred) in Optical Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Optical Engineering.
• Experience with optical design software such as Zemax OpticStudio.
• Proficiency in statistical data analysis using JMP, MATLAB, or Python.
• Understanding of opto-mechanical system assembly, packaging, tolerance analysis, and stray light analysis.
• Must be based in the US (US ONLY).
