TL;DR

Employment Counsel (Legal): Lead employment legal support for a fast-moving global business with an accent on Irish and UK employment law, cross-border compliance, and scalable employment frameworks. Focus on advising People and managers on complex employment matters, drafting employment and separation documents, and supervising outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.

What you will do

  • Advise People and managers on international employment matters: hiring, performance management, investigations, restructurings, separations, leaves of absence, discrimination/harassment, working time and pay compliance, and works council/trade union obligations.
  • Develop, implement, and scale compliant employment programs, policies, and practices; help shape employment legal strategy for international growth.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents including employment agreements, equity/compensation documentation, settlement agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and separation documentation.
  • Advise on GDPR and employment-related privacy matters for candidate and employee data processing.
  • Identify employment legal risks and create practical, scalable solutions that enable fast business execution.
  • Supervise outside counsel and manage employment disputes and pre-litigation matters; support new-country hiring and entity launches.

Requirements

  • Location: must live within commuting distance of the Dublin, Ireland hub.
  • Qualified to practice law in Ireland and/or the UK, with 8+ years of experience advising on employment-related issues (in-house experience preferred).
  • Deep expertise in Irish and UK employment law, plus experience advising across additional jurisdictions (Germany, Japan, or Australia is a strong plus).
  • Experience with cross-border employment matters including works councils, collective consultation obligations, investigations, global mobility, restructurings, and international HR compliance.
  • Experience with GDPR compliance and advising on global candidate and employee privacy matters.
  • Ability to operate as the primary international employment lawyer with limited supervision while partnering across multiple time zones.
