Battery Development Engineer (Automotive)

AVL Research & Engineering Turkey is an automotive engineering center developing intelligent mobility solutions and conducting national and international R&D projects for the Turkish and global automotive industry.

What you will do

• Lead system and functional integration and support technical project management for battery development.
• Prepare battery system requirements and specifications and coordinate related information with software and inverter teams.
• Define testing and validation activities and assess DVP results.
• Support high-voltage battery electrical and mechanical design, modelling, and simulation.
• Support battery controls, functional safety, and system- and component-level safety activities.
• Ensure development quality through requirements engineering, review loops, documentation, and release activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, control, mechatronics, mechanical, or automotive engineering.
• Fluent spoken English and excellent written English are required.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of or interest in lithium-ion batteries, battery systems, battery management systems, electrical components, sensors, and actuators.
• Understanding of electrical safety standards, calculations, electric vehicles, electric machines, power electronics, and automotive powertrains.
• Willingness to undertake frequent and long-term domestic and international travel.

Nice to have

• Experience as a member of a university EV, solar vehicle, or battery team.
• German language skills.
