What you will do

• Own the software strategy and technical roadmap for the Custom Solutions organization.
• Define software architecture standards, development methodologies, coding practices, and governance.
• Architect complex customer solutions integrating Rohde & Schwarz instruments, third-party hardware, automation frameworks, and enterprise software.
• Drive decisions between third-party software vendors vs internal development.
• Build reusable software frameworks, APIs, libraries, and reference architectures to reduce custom engineering effort.
• Provide technical leadership across project execution (discovery, requirements analysis, design/code reviews, and technical risk mitigation) and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in technical leadership or software architecture.
• Expertise in C#, Python, C++, .NET, and REST APIs, with strong modern software architecture principles.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and Azure DevOps (or equivalent DevOps toolchains).
• Ability to obtain required export compliance and/or security clearance as required; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Strong customer-facing communication, systems thinking, and cross-functional leadership skills.
