What you will do

• Gather and translate user needs and business requirements into epics and prioritized backlogs for clinical genomics software.
• Drive product strategy and roadmap execution through release planning, sprint grooming, and sprint planning.
• Create flow diagrams, process maps, wireframes, and prototypes to guide the software development team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Bioinformatics, Lab Operations, and Medical Affairs to ensure product alignment with user needs.
• Produce detailed requirement documentation, progress reports, and presentations for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Provide business area expertise to developers and QA throughout the SDLC and computer systems validation (CSV) efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience in software product ownership.
• 5+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum or equivalent software development lifecycles.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in San Diego, CA.
• Must have authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience developing software and informatics solutions for next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows.
• 1+ years of experience managing and coaching a team.
• Technical proficiency with Jira, Confluence, JAMA, Miro, and Microsoft Office.
