TL;DR

Sr. Software Product Owner (Surgical Robotics): Coordinating product development for surgical robotics within the Software Engineering Center of Excellence with an accent on hybrid HW/SW systems and scaled agile frameworks. Focus on defining product backlogs, ensuring rigorous regulatory compliance, and coordinating end-to-end software release planning for complex medical systems.

Location: Onsite in Boston, MA (4 days per week). Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $149,000 – $177,600 per year

What you will do

  • Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring requirements are clear and aligned with business goals.
  • Coordinate product development for the Surgical Robotics business across multiple stakeholders.
  • Manage the end-to-end SDLC process using tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence.
  • Oversee software architecture, design specifications, and anomaly tracking to ensure audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and end-users to translate feedback into technical requirements.
  • Coordinate software release planning and integration of firmware and hardware.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for software engineering.
  • Certified SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification.
  • Proficiency with C++, Python, Simulink, and RTOS.
  • Experience with medical regulations including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and FDA 21 CFR Part 802.
  • Experience performing risk management analysis using FMEA.
