PEO Underwriter (Insurance)

What you will do

• Evaluate, price, and manage risk for new and renewing PEO groups end-to-end.
• Audit census data and validate prior carrier documentation for consistency and accuracy.
• Analyze claims experience, loss ratios, and trend factors to support pricing decisions.
• Collaborate with brokers, sales teams, and compliance to resolve submission gaps.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and secure handling of PHI and sensitive data.
• Contribute to the improvement of underwriting playbooks and data quality workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in health insurance underwriting, benefits administration, or analytical roles.
• Must possess valid US work authorization.
• Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for managing large datasets.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical translation to stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Exposure to PEO, ASO, or group health insurance concepts.
• Familiarity with ACA compliance, COBRA, or benefits administration workflows.
• Experience using HRIS, benefits administration, or payroll platforms.
• Progress toward AHIP, LOMA, or other actuarial certifications.
