What you will do

• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of systems engineers, supporting their professional growth.
• Lead the design and scaling of distributed systems, including container and Kubernetes abstraction layers.
• Maintain hands-on technical involvement and make targeted individual contributions to the software stack.
• Manage day-to-day execution, project prioritization, and roadmapping in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Guide architectural decisions emphasizing scalability, robustness, reliability, and SLI/SLO design.
• Collaborate with research and training teams to translate their needs into reliable platform primitives.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and mentoring engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on.
• Deep distributed-systems engineering experience with real ownership of production-grade systems at scale.
• Strong coding ability and the technical credibility to lead a high-performing team.
• Expertise in at least one core area: distributed systems architecture, service reliability, or container platforms.
• Fluency with the reliability toolkit, including SLIs/SLOs, sharding, replication, and tail-latency optimization.
• Ability to drive execution and strategy in a zero-to-one environment.
