Senior Software Developer (Python): Developing and maintaining the Leap quantum-classical hybrid cloud platform with an accent on scalable backend services and REST APIs. Focus on designing high-availability cloud infrastructure, mentoring developers, and implementing complex asynchronous programming solutions.

Location: Remote (United States). Must be a US Person (citizen/permanent resident) and be able to obtain a US government security clearance. Required to work from the Burnaby, Canada office for 6 weeks during onboarding and at least 2 weeks per year.

Salary: $150,000 – $206,000

What you will do

• Collaborate with product owners and architects to deliver new features from concept to deployment.
• Participate in the full SDLC, including requirements, design, testing, and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain backend services and platform capabilities for the Leap ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot system-level bugs and perform performance tuning and scalability improvements.
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers and conduct peer code reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, Git, and Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, asynchronous programming, and software architecture.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or qualify for a U.S. government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Golang or Rust.
• Knowledge of HPC environments and workload managers such as Slurm or PBS.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and building AI-powered solutions.
• Proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes (K8s), and Argo CD.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Spinnaker.
