What you will do

• Lead the development of backend systems and growth initiatives for the MapMyFitness platform.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and design teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Proactively address bugs and implement continuous improvements for the fitness community.
• Monitor and resolve incidents to ensure high system availability.
• Build and maintain robust APIs that power mobile applications.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in Python and Java (Scala experience is a plus).
• Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with RDS/MySQL, Django, and event-driven systems like Kafka.
• Proficiency with AI agent coding tools such as Claude Code.
• Must be based in the United States to comply with remote work policies.
