What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services to ingest, process, and serve high-volume health data.
• Lead technical initiatives to improve system observability, performance, and data reliability.
• Drive architectural decisions for integrations with third-party data sources and APIs.
• Partner with product, clinical, and data science teams to translate complex healthcare requirements into robust solutions.
• Mentor engineers and elevate standards through design reviews and operational excellence.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and break down ambiguous problems into actionable engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• Proficiency in modern frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Python.
• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Proven track record of designing and operating distributed systems with high reliability requirements.
• Experience with data pipelines, event-driven architectures, or real-time processing systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare systems, medical devices, or regulated environments (HIPAA, FDA).
• Familiarity with device integrations such as CGMs, wearables, or remote monitoring tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern CI/CD practices.
