TL;DR

Senior Document Controller (Energy): Providing end-to-end document control support for a major technical digitisation project with an accent on cataloguing, classification, and quality assurance. Focus on managing Master Document Registers (MDRs), ensuring metadata accuracy, and preparing technical records for release into Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).

Location: Must be based on-site in Peterhead, Scotland for the duration of the project.

What you will do

  • Create, populate, and maintain Master Document Registers (MDRs).
  • Support the end-to-end digitisation of hard-copy technical libraries and records.
  • Manage metadata to ensure accurate digital classification within EDMS.
  • Perform detailed QA/QC checks on digitised documentation to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Manage digital file release processes, including SFTP to EDMS.
  • Maintain accurate version control, audit trails, and document traceability.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work on-site in Peterhead for the duration of the project.
  • Proven experience in document control, ideally within the energy, oil and gas, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), metadata, and version control.
  • Proficiency in managing Master Document Registers (MDRs) and cataloguing technical documentation.
  • Experience with OCR-searchable PDFs and digital file release processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and proactive approach to QA/QC.
