PCB Layout Designer III (Aerospace)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. U.S. citizenship, nationality, permanent residency, refugee status, or asylum status is required.

Base pay: $104,027–$145,637 per year for California and Washington applicants; other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Design and lay out high-performance, high-reliability avionics PCBs for aerospace applications.
• Create and maintain eCAD component libraries, including schematic symbols, footprints, and component information.
• Use Altium Designer to produce PCB layouts, Gerber files, fabrication and assembly drawings, and related documentation.
• Apply industry standards and resolve PCB design, layout, manufacturing, assembly, and testing issues.
• Support design reviews with DFM, DFA, DFT, and related assessments while improving PCB development processes.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers; review other layout work and mentor junior resources and technicians.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of PCB layout and design experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Expert proficiency with Altium Designer Pro, 365, or Enterprise for library and layout work.
• Experience with IPC-6012 Class 3, IPC-7352, PCB constraint management, trace-length matching, spacing rules, and controlled impedance.
• Experience designing HDI boards with fine-pitch BGA components, through-hole and microvias, and blind or buried vias.
• Experience with high-speed, high-power, and high-density board design, multi-rail power delivery, thermal management, and mechanical constraints.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice to have

• PCB design certification, AAS in PCB Design, or BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• CID, CIS, or CSE certification.
• Experience with Siemens Valor, Siemens HyperLynx, Git, AWS GovCloud, Python, Perl, DelphiScript, or PCB design automation tools such as Quilter or Darcy.
