Electrical Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; office-based role

Salary: $100,800–$126,000 USD base salary annually. Total compensation including equity: $110,875–$143,625 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop PCBA requirements in collaboration with engineers from other disciplines.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Perform power, tolerance, and reliability circuit analysis.
• Plan and execute PCBA design verification and system integration testing.
• Support production manufacturing as needed.
• Participate in spacecraft electrical hardware development from requirements definition through production, including opportunities to test and operate systems on orbit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Strong understanding of circuit design fundamentals and electrical engineering principles.
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, and soldering irons.
• Experience creating design verification test plans and executing tests.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements; candidates must also satisfy applicable ITAR authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• Experience designing for space environments, including radiation impacts and mitigation.
• Experience with high-reliability aerospace applications, rigid-flex PCBs, or electromechanical design.
• Experience with FPGA design and embedded software development for ARM core processors.
• Experience managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
