Senior Staff Engineer, PCB Design (Aerospace)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; workplace: on-site

Salary: $180,000–$270,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for full-time regular employees.

What you will do

• Create PCB layouts for complex digital, analog, RF, high-speed, and power electronics used in aircraft.
• Design and manage PCB stack-ups with fabrication vendors and manufacturing engineers.
• Translate schematics, routing rules, and design intent into production-ready PCBA designs.
• Coordinate mechanical placement, board form-factor integration, connector positioning, and placement constraints.
• Apply signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, impedance-control, thermal, and EMI mitigation practices.
• Conduct design reviews, address feedback, and produce manufacturing outputs, drawings, and fabrication and assembly documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in PCB layout for production hardware, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Ability to design for manufacturability, reliability, and supplier DFM requirements.

Nice to have

• Understanding of IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-7351, and related standards.
• Knowledge of PCB materials, manufacturing processes, and stack-up construction.
• Experience with controlled-impedance routing, differential pairs, length matching, and high-current power distribution.
• Experience with scripting, automation, Altium Designer, and simulation tools for layout validation.
