EHS Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $103,730–$198,820 USD.

What you will do

• Provide ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety support across the lifecycle of semiconductor process equipment and facility systems.
• Validate supplier equipment compliance with SEMI S2 and S8 standards and support safety-focused equipment and facility installations.
• Support new process technology development, including novel manufacturing equipment and chemicals.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and recommend engineering or administrative controls.
• Validate implementation of health and safety controls before technology transfers to high-volume manufacturing.
• Own and continuously improve EHS programs across hirify.global’s Oregon manufacturing locations and collaborate with cross-site teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related science.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience conducting technical ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety assessments in a field environment.
• Experience with ergonomic evaluations, chemical exposure assessments, Job Hazard Analysis, and Process Hazard Analysis.
• Ability to translate complex health and safety requirements into actionable guidance and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong engineering judgment, structured technical problem-solving, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related science.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or technology development.
• Active CPE, CIH, or CSP certification.
