Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Livermore, California; on-site presence is required for fab and facilities operations.

Salary: $84,800–$111,300 per year

What you will do

• Implement and continuously improve EH&S programs in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Maintain environmental compliance programs covering hazardous waste, chemical inventories, SDS documentation, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
• Support sustainability initiatives involving energy, water, waste, recycling, emissions, and ESG performance tracking.
• Maintain PPE programs and provide technical EH&S support for equipment installations, projects, and operational changes.
• Develop environmental procedures, work instructions, technical documentation, and training for operations, engineering, facilities, and global teams.
• Maintain the EH&S training matrix, track training effectiveness, and contribute to ISO 14001 management systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related technical discipline, plus at least 2 years of related experience; an advanced degree without experience or equivalent experience may also qualify.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, chemical handling, and DOT regulations.
• Experience developing and delivering EH&S training and maintaining training systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical documentation, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with Facilities, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate EH&S teams.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment with PPE and exposure to chemicals and industrial systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with ISO 14001 or other environmental management systems.
• Experience with environmental permitting, wastewater systems, chemical handling, or hazardous waste programs in a semiconductor fab.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations, semiconductor fab infrastructure, SEMI guidelines, and EH&S software systems.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification and DOT Hazmat/Ground Shipper Certification.
