What you will do

• Lead a team of senior engineers in developing next-generation media processing stacks.

• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on complex media processing challenges.
• Partner with product and platform teams to define and execute technical roadmaps.
• Own service performance metrics and reliability targets for global media infrastructure.

Requirements

• Must be based in Ireland or the United Kingdom
• 5+ years of engineering management experience leading teams building distributed systems.
• Strong technical background in architecting backend services at scale with high reliability.
• Deep understanding of systems design, microservice architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience managing complex technical tradeoffs between reliability, scalability, and feature development.
• Experience with real-time communications, media processing, or streaming technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIP, RTP/RTCP, or other communications protocols.
• Familiarity with media codecs, transcoding, and audio processing.
• Background in building low-latency, globally distributed systems.
• Experience with Rust, Java, C/C++, or platforms like Asterisk/gStreamer.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure on AWS.
