Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote in the United Kingdom

What you will do

• Lead and coach engineering teams to deliver customer value.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional growth.
• Plan work, remove blockers, coordinate dependencies, and maintain clear communication.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define, design, and implement technical solutions.
• Manage technical debt and operational toil while supporting existing systems.
• Contribute to engineering practices and cross-team initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in engineering management or equivalent coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership experience.
• Track record of building products, leading complex initiatives, and designing systems.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience building highly available, transactional, and distributed cloud applications.
• Strong web frontend expertise, including secure customer-facing applications and modern web technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js, Django REST Framework, serverless architectures, container-based services, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Postgres, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge, or DataDog.
