Engineering Manager

Location: Remote within the United States; Bay Area-based employees must work from the San Mateo office at least three days per week, while other remote employees are expected to travel occasionally to headquarters for company events and onsite gatherings.

Salary: $220,000–$330,000 per year, plus equity and additional compensation eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a diverse engineering team.
• Set technical direction for engineering projects in partnership with product, design, and business stakeholders.
• Manage engineering metrics including team velocity, delivery commitments, code quality, and deployment success.
• Promote software development best practices, CI/CD, code reviews, testing, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break down complex technical challenges and collaborate across teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Use team and stakeholder feedback to improve collaboration, performance, and innovation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development, architecture, or related engineering fields.
• 3+ years of leadership or engineering management experience.
• Strong problem-solving, coding, and debugging skills across multiple programming languages.
• Deep knowledge of modern web application development, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Experience managing engineering metrics and delivering maintainable, well-tested, reliable software.
• Demonstrated success building high-performing teams in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
