TL;DR
Lead Test Engineer (C#): Driving quality engineering and automation strategy for assessment software with an accent on C#/.NET frameworks and API testing. Focus on mentoring teams, implementing modern automation practices, and ensuring system reliability within an Agile environment.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester, UK (Hybrid: 2 days/week in office)
Salary: £57,400 – £64,700

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using C#, SpecFlow, and Playwright.
- Provide technical leadership to Agile delivery teams on automation, API testing, and quality engineering.
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to define acceptance criteria and mitigate risks.
- Mentor and coach team members to embed a culture of quality and automation best practices.
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Champion the use of AI tools to enhance test preparation and overall productivity.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester, UK.
- Strong commercial experience developing automated tests and frameworks in C#/.NET environments.
- Proven experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, SpecFlow, or Gherkin.
- Solid understanding of API testing and execution within development pipelines.
- Deep knowledge of Agile software delivery, testing methodologies, and quality engineering principles.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
