People Advice Team Manager (HR): Leading and developing a high-performing team of People Advisers to deliver consistent, customer-focused HR support across the organization with an accent on service quality, KPI management, and operational efficiency. Focus on driving continuous improvement, implementing manager self-service solutions, and collaborating with Employee Relations Specialists to ensure effective service delivery.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester for hybrid work (2 days/week in office)

Salary: £42,700 – £48,000

What you will do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four People Advisers to ensure high-quality, consistent service.
  • Oversee HR advice and casework, using data and KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement.
  • Shape the future of the People Advice service through process optimization and operational change.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex queries and collaborate with Employee Relations Specialists.
  • Develop self-service resources, templates, and guidance to empower managers and colleagues.
  • Monitor service data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for service design enhancements.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in HR advisory, employee relations, or people services environments.
  • Proven experience leading, developing, and motivating a team.
  • Strong track record of managing KPI and SLA-driven services.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work from the Manchester office 2 days per week.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and manager self-service solutions.
