What you will do

• Build backend systems to make the lab programmable and integrate laboratory instruments and robotics.
• Architect data pipelines for processing large-scale protein characterization data.
• Build APIs that integrate diverse laboratory instruments and robotics into the software stack.
• Collaborate with scientists and automation engineers to translate complex molecular biology workflows into reliable, scalable software.
• Enable physical machines to perform precise biology experiments with minimal human intervention.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing and building production backend systems.
• Experience building data pipelines and processing infrastructure.
• Comfortable with API design and systems integration.
• A genuine interest in biology (no prior background required).
• High-autonomy, founder mindset, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to write code primarily with AI, combined with experience in good code and architecture practices.
